2019 ANNUAL WORKSHOP
The Housing Authority of the City of Greenville hosted the Eastern Carolina Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (ECAHRO) Annual Fall Occupancy Conference in Wrightsville Beach on October 16-18, 2019. As in the past, the conference was especially timely, highlighting several important HUD Policy changes that housing authorities will be dealing with for some time to come. We were fortunate to have Dennis Morgan, an influential Senior Associate from D. L. Morgan & Associates, as well as a prominent instructor from the Institute of Real Estate Management, Glenn French, CPM Emeritus, as the keynote presenters.
The seminars provided the occupancy and maintenance leadership with the opportunity to further enhance and develop their skills. This years’ conference showcased the introduction of a new maintenance educational track that focused on “Staying REAC READY” for HUD. The course objectives aligned with upcoming REAC changes which included a discussion of HUD’s NSPIRE physical inspection demonstration program and protocol. The conference also provided the ECAHRO leadership with the opportunity to further refine and network during the evening “Full House” social event which included an opening reception with family fun games.
